It takes on average 20 years apparently for a new concept medical cure to be accepted by medical societies. It took 20 years of Russian studies before they accepted Buteyko's asthma method as the standard Russian asthma treatment. In the past, when a patient caught tuberculosis it was the same as death sentence and each state had tuberculosis facilities where patients were sent to die.A doctor made a speech at a medical society convention that he was curing TB patients with sunshine. The entire convention room walked out on this disclosure as ridiculous. 20 years later it became the accepted successful treatment for TB. During the infantile paralysis era, the medical professionals were prescribing casts for affected muscles and most wound up in wheelchairs for life. (Franklin Roosevelt, President, was one.) A sister Kenny in Australia developed a controversial exercise program that saved muscles of those afflicted and she was called a money grubbing Charlton by medical experts for 20 years. The Mayo Clinic eventually helped her set up many clinics in the U.S. Ironically, the Mayo Clinic has endorsed the Buteyko method as an alternative asthma treatment. Your authors wife had infantile paralysis as a child and walks today because her mother used sister Kenny's massages and exercise instead of the standard prescribed medical treatment at the time. The past history of the American Medical Society is that it has not improved in this regard evidenced by recently it took the American Medical Society 20 years to accept the two week cure for ulcers developed by a small town "outback" doctor in Australia. In the 20 years American doctors continuing torturing their patients with useless stomach surgery and over drugging to no avail, American ulcer patients suffered needlessly for twenty years, while the American medical fraternity persistently claimed there was "no cure" for ulcers. Every time he made a speech about his ulcer "cure" to the Medical Society convention, the entire room of doctors would get up and walk out and complained bitterly to the convention program people for allowing this small town Australian doctor to explain his asthma cure involving pylori bacteria. They said it was an insult to their intelligence to have him on the program where anybody who had been to medical school knew that bacteria could not survive in stomach acid.Ostracized for 20 years, labeled a "quack" by the medical society, the Australian Doctor was recently awarded the Nobel prize for his discovery of a simple nearly 100% effective 2 weeks, end it forever, ulcer cure. It had been used by this doctor in Australia successfully for 20 years. Your editor here is calling on media to not allow a medical society repeat or let that 20 year delay happen to a "known and proven" medical cure in the U.S. again.
That the American public is entitled to be informed of a cure in existence, with this now well "scientifically proven" 20 year tested, out of country developed, drug free, asthma cure.
