Correct that habit. SHUT Your mouth. If you are breathing enough air for six people, (most asthmatics breathing enough for 4 to 6 people) that means you are inhaling SIX TIMES the amount of allergens, a normal person inhales. You think you are hyper sensitive to allergens, when you are just overwhelming yourself with quantity. Your nose is key because it helps considerably to filter out allergens, etc and if pre humidifies, and warms (conditions) the air on its way thru your pipes. This all in addition to the volume regulating, and that nose of yours is there to protect the lower respiratory tract from environmental insults. If you by pass these functions by the bad habit of opening your mouth, then you earn yourself a problem or two. This reduces dehydration, increases oxygenation, (cuts loss of CO2, )lowers pulse rate, improves performance and aids recovery from over exertion.. Your stuff nose has been trying to protect you from over breathing. When you get your CO2 lowered too extreme, (over blow off of carbon dioxide) then you increase allergic reactions, you are causing the very problem that you then get chemicals to open your nose and breath more and increase the problem. After you understand what is going on here with over blow off of carbon dioxide you will understand why everything you have done to date only seems to make it worse, because it does. Eat to much you get obese. Breath too much you get Asthma. The fix is the same, stop the "over doing" that is causing it.
