There are limited choices because Buteyko and the Asthma fix has had absolutely no publicity in the U.S.

Here are methods available now that we know about and are researching it further.

1. The Buteyko organization has 8 certified practitioners (that teach courses) in the U.S. on the Buteyko method. There are likely others that may have taken the course and teaching it, but we are unaware at this point. To reach the Buteyko organization in the U.S. go here: http://www.buteykocenterusa.com .

The Buteyko practitioners course is typically 5 sessions of 2 hours. They follow up with your progress, they offer individual lessons, etc.
Typical course cost is around $400. You may have to travel some distance in U.S. to attend a course, unless they may be coming to your city on some date. Most guarantee satisfaction with your results or they will refund your money.

2. Learning Buteyko method with DVD courses or on video.
There is a long list of DVDs and videos available.
Some of these will have samples on U-Tube.

There is one book we have read and can recommend we bought from Amazon, Asthma-Free Naturally by Patrick McKeown, a Buteyko practitioner. He also has a shorter book which may be better for learning the method quickly is called "Shut Your Mouth." What the success rate with books is unknown. However, remember, there seems to be no failures. If you practice at all, it seems all who have done any at all, say it has made a big difference. Some in a just a few days.

4. What the success rate is with doing this yourself with a book or video in the U.S., we have not pinned down.

What success that you will or may have, we cannot at this point speculate even, but it is all very inexpensive compared to the continued medication option and no one seems to say anything bad about their experience, no matter how they tried to learn it. Every bit of progress they made was appreciated.
